A parent is a child's most important teacher. This calendar provides parents with helpful information on how to better prepare their child for the important transition between preschool years and kindergarten. By using this calendar as a guide, parents become "partners" supplementing and supporting the work done by a child's teacher. 10,000 calendars are distributed to families throughout Sarasota County.

Inside, there is a School Readiness Indicator Checklist, letting parents be part of early learning standards. Each month lists new learning tips and trends, along with daily activities and lists of recommended age-appropriate books to read.
